Mona Lisa
Our study of art begins with one of the most recognizable paintings of all time. Hundreds of years after Leonardo da Vinci finished his painting, it continues to fascinate people. It was recently digitized so it could even be studied by computer. People wonder about the color, the smile, the eyebrows and other secrets the painting holds.
What's your opinion of the famous Mona Lisa?
Maybe Leonardo ran out of paint when he was doing the eye brows.
ReplyDeleteThe Mona Lisa...To be honest, I've never understood why it is so loved, but I remember seeing it in person in Paris. It is enclosed in a glass case and there are always crowds of people around it because it is so popular and famous.
ReplyDeleteSome sources say that the Mona Lisa was Leonardo himself, and that he carried the Mona Lisa painting wherever he traveled for the remainder of his life.
ReplyDeletesomthing about it is wrong. it has such a powerful meaning. I belive they're is sompthing serious that will take place in the futer.
ReplyDeleteI think that 'anonymous' is just kidding. What's wrong about the painting? What kind of meaning could it possibly have? As for my opinion - I used to think the popularity of the Mona Lisa was bizzare because I never found her to be beautiful. Recently, though, when studying her, I have discovered she is quite lovely after all. And it turns out I find her expression rather intriguing, now, too. Perhaps getting older has changed my vision.
ReplyDeleteWhat I find very different about it was that Leonardo painted her with a slight smile. That was virtually unheard of in that day.
