Who was Cy Twombly? He was an artist.
If you've never heard of him or seen his work, that's great! I'd like to know what your first impression is when you see it . . . as well as any afterthoughts, too. You can view a gallery of drawings and paintings here and sculptures here. A short biography and slideshow is at nytimes.com.
What are your impressions of Cy Twombly's art?
I think that his paintings a pretty silly.
ReplyDeleteA preschoolers art is more fun to look at because I know that that preschooler did his best at it. I would be embarrassed to put one of Mr. Twombly's paintings up on my wall! :)
Thanks for your honesty! Adults and art experts never know what a new generation of "fresh eyes" will see in a work of art. I think some of his stuff is pretty silly, too.
ReplyDeleteAnybody else want to weigh in?
Those pictures look easy to draw. It looks like Isaiah's pictures that he paints.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the art is that great but I did like it when he started using more color instead of all that black and white stuff. I also thought it was funny when I saw his picture as an old man with suspenders. I didn't picture him that way when I saw the scribbling.
ReplyDeleteHey, I'm just glad the guy could make a living on that stuff. Maybe I can do it, too.
ReplyDeleteI like this one .
ReplyDeleteThis art remindes me of abstract expressionisim. If there is one thing this needs more of it's black & red
